CRAIG SUTTON ENTERTAINMENT has always carried and met industry levels for insurance coverage, as is or can be required by many of my corporate, private, hotel, country club, venue, retail and event planner partners who need to protect themselves from liability. Yes! As a sole proprietor/small business, it’s expensive,
yet it’s how we do business. It not only protects you, it’s part of the value you get. Be aware, whoever you hire, if they do not carry the proper liability insurance (not homeowners or rental), you could be personally liable. It’s standard for my event partners to ask for a COI. I have also, over the years, received many calls from frantic
(and now, new) customers, who booked their events with an uninsured, inexperienced, part time, (supposedly-professional but not) DJ or entertainment subcontractor, then when asked for the proper documentation (COI) by, for example the venue or customer COI and unable to produce it, the customer has to scramble. Our COI (Certificate of Insurance) is available upon request.
